A VIP client places a booking for 14 truck movements in and out of an exclusive event – featuring senior royals - at Sky Garden.

Emphasis is placed on the need for the accuracy of the logistics and the importance of having all vehicles in the right place at the right time. The client has an extremely tight deadline and a huge amount of expensive labour booked to load and unload vehicles.

We schedule all movements accurately – monitoring the position of vehicles in real time, with spare vehicles and drivers on standby.

During operations, the client has more requirements and places orders. LVT diverts more resources into play to meet the client’s needs.

What: Emergency removal of abandoned equipment

A call from this client comes in at 6.30pm requesting immediate help. The client arrived on site to build an event overnight - and 8 Genie lifts from the previous event have been left abandoned in the space.

We despatch a truck within 2 hours, collect the equipment, store it overnight and return it to the owners the next morning. The client can go ahead and build their event.

What: Tour truck for Soho show

In the middle of the night, thanks to duty hours, we send a second driver to load out from the venue in the middle of the night.

Most roads around Soho and the West End are closed for a cycling event, so driver Eddie cycles into London at 3am to take over from the first driver who had started his day in Yeovil.

Eddie moves the truck carefully through closed roads for the load out and onto the next show.

What: Delivery and installation of PoS material

The brief is tricky as travel and duty times required do not sit within working time and drivers’ hours regulations. We must deliver fragile POS material and hand-made sculptures accurately and then, hours later, take away waste packaging material.

Using our knowledge of relevant legislation and experience of this kind of work, we find solutions and schedule all requirements, switching drivers when necessary and dividing requirements between resources. A successful campaign that comes in on budget. Client very happy.

Our client has under-spec’d the amount of equipment needing to be cleared from site so it won’t fit on their vehicles. They need a quick solution.

LVT has vehicles out working in West London , so can redirect a truck within 30 minutes, make the collection and leave site.

What: Rescue and delivery of equipment

Truck and driver service:

An LVT truck is out delivering into a venue in central London at 1am. As they return empty to base, the driver sees crew sitting on flight cases at the side of the road outside a hotel.

The driver knows the venue and pulls up. The production company’s transport supplier has failed to turn up and they are trying to get the 2 tonnes of equipment lying on the pavement back to their warehouse in South London.

After a few calls, arrangements are made: we load the equipment and deliver it directly to our new client, which is delighted.
